Dr. Kengatharaiyer Sarveswaran holds a PhD and MSc from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and a BSc from the University of Peradeniya. He has been a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Jaffna for over 11 years. Prior to joining the department, he served for 5 years at the University of Moratuwa and the LK Domain Registry as a systems engineer. Dr. Sarves has been working in the field of Language Computing for over 15 years, focusing primarily on the processing of low-resource languages such as Tamil and Sinhala. He has collaborated with researchers worldwide and has published more than 20 research articles and language/linguistic resources. Dr. Sarves is also a Herz Fellow and a visiting researcher at the University of Konstanz, Germany. He is an enthusiastic advocate of open-source software and has contributed to several open-source projects, including Mozilla and Moodle. In addition, he is a founding member of Yarl IT Hub, a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
