“Annual General Meeting 2020”

The Annual General Meeting of the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Jaffna was held on the 26th of September 2020 at the DCS-UOJ premise. During the meeting, a new committee was elected for the academic year 2020/2021 and the past academic year’s activities were discussed. We are very grateful to the DCS staff and all the IEEE members, who gave their fullest support to make this annual gathering a successful one.

“Welcome to IEEE”

“Welcome to IEEE”, an experience sharing session of the IEEE SYW Congress 2019 and an introduction to IEEE. By this event, we hope to motivate new students to join our IEEE student branch and also encourage students to participate in IEEE national events such as the SYW Congress by which they can amass numerous valuable experiences and lessons for their personal and professional development. The event will be held on Tuesday the 21st of January 2020 from 1.30 PM onwards in the CUL I, Department of Computer Science, University of Jaffna. We cordially invite interest students in the University of Jaffna.

Year 2019 the Congress is themed on “Disruptive Innovation for a Green Future” and to facilitate the theme, SLSYWC19 will span over three days a lot more experiences, memories, and inspiration.

This time eight IEEE SB UoJ members participated for the Congress. Mr. Dimuthu Anuraj and Mr. Ruchira Manathunga served as a SLSYWC19 organizing committee members.

IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members – advised and proctored by an IEEE member, and often supported by an IEEE Student Branch – compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems.
